Barbara Ross lives and writes in Davis Square, Somerville, Massachusetts.
Odd that it's taken so long to write about a book in my primary reading genre, mystery and more specifically police procedurals. My British authors, Ruth Rendell in her 70s, and P.D. James in her 80s, can't keep up with my demand, so I have to mix it up with some of the Americans who write in the genre. Deborah Crombie is one of the more competent and I really enjoyed her most recent book, Water Like a Stone. MORE

We’ve come so far from Sutherland Road, but we’re still the same, right? My joints get stiff sometimes, but I don’t think I’ve gotten old. When you think about that apartment from hell with the living room divided into two bedrooms, the dining room become living room, and the kitchn that was the saving grace of the place, and then think of what we were all doing — I think you babysat and maybe waitressed, Judy and Tish both waitressed, I gave tours of BC — and where we are now, it makes you wonder how you can predict the future. I enjoyed “It’s Too Soon to Tell,” but it’s just our nature to wonder anyway. See you soon, and best to Bill.
